What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first appointment is aimed at understanding your individual periodontal and/or dental implant needs. This is important in order to formulate a personalised treatment plan for you. Initial consultations usually take 30-40 minutes. Sometimes a second visit may be required to discuss our findings and recommended treatment plan.

You will be asked to complete paperwork outlining your contact details and medical history. This will ensure we can contact you if necessary and enable us to carry out your treatment safely with the greatest chance of success. Please allow sufficient time before your appointment so that you can complete your forms when you arrive for your consultation.

We would like to get to know you and your concerns about your dental health.  In order to better understand your needs and wishes, we will ask you some questions. In addition, we will carry out an examination of your mouth so that we can determine the extent of your dental treatment needs. There may be the requirement for additional investigations, in the form of x-rays or scans, impressions for study models, or photographic records.

After putting this information together, we are able to formulate the best treatment plan for you. We will discuss with you the issues and your different treatment options. You will be advised of the individual steps and costs for each stage of your treatment.
